Friendly warning for 1st-timers & for those who want to do everything by themselves

After a first meeting in China, at the Canton Fair or in the factory, things usually start well with the Chinese factory. You’ll perhaps be invited to a traditional local restaurant where you might share some drunkenness moments with the factory owners. You’ll feel important and understood, most particularly, you’ll think your differences won’t be a problem after all!

Certainly, a meal gets business partners closer and many deals are done around a dining table. Nevertheless, unprepared deals with unidentified partners are very risky.

Indeed, there’s no better lesson that learning from our own mistakes.
But Asiaction’s mission is to help you minimise or eradicate your risk.

Actually, the difficulties you might encounter in China are mostly linked to distance, language and culture. Indeed, the Chinese culture is unique and very codified. It takes years to identify and understand these codes. Added to the low number of people speaking correct English, communicating with local people can be frustrating, especially when you try to create a business relationship.

Local companies hire English speaking staff, but international buyers still have to overcome the distance and the cultural gap. Many problems from doing business with Chinese factories come from a distance both cultural and physical.

When issues come up, nobody in the factory wants to be responsible. Hence, no solution is found. Buyers located outside of China develop feelings of irritation mixed with impatience and find themselves in situations where solutions arrive slowly (if ever).

You can avoid most of those bumps on the road by being assisted by a professional buying office in China, like ours.

Asiaction’s goal is to make things easier for you in China. Whether it is for a business trip, securing partnerships with local factories, developing new products, sourcing more factories, inspecting orders, etc.
Our office is in Guangzhou, and we’ve been helping international companies since 2008. We can help you too.
